Great things are happening at Joomla Detroit, and to each and every member, I'd like to say thank you for being part of this amazing revitalization!
This post is specifically written to introduce our new Google Groups Discussion Board! Google groups provides a versatile and high-visability forum to discuss topics, ask questions or show off work.
With the addition of Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Google plus page and now, Google Groups, many of you are wondering why we have so many venues. Simply, each serves a seperate purpose and appeals to different types of people.
Facebook - is generally used as a community where members and enthusiasts can share their work and get updates on JoomlaDetroit.com's latest articles posted.
Twitter - can spur quick public discussion, messaging to and from the group (make sure to follow hashtag #JUGDet for updates) and throughout the Joomla community.
Google Plus - while much like Facebook in some ways, the G+ page serves as the streaming site where those who cannot attend meetups can tune in and participate from home.
Google Groups - specifically deployed as a forum where both members and individuals can message and have longer discussions than on Twitter and Facebook.
Once again, all: I want to personally thank you for being a part of Joomla Detroit, the fastest growing open source CMS meetup group in Michigan!
See you on April 10 when we have special guest speaker, Gabe Wahhab of Savvy Panda talk about social media and inbound marketing!
